Astymin Rewards More Children for Academic Excellence


After two years of successful outing, all is now set for the 3rd edition of Astymin Brilliance Reward (ABR) programme, organised by Fidson Healthcare Plc, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) aimed at inculcating the culture of hard-work and academic excellence among pupils.

Basically, the ABR initiative was introduced in July 2011 by Fidson through its popular Astymin brand to promote academic excellence and hard- work amongst primary school pupils in the country with a view to recognizing, appreciating and rewarding outstanding and brilliant ones amongst them, says the company. 

The first edition of the programme which took place in 2011 the company said, had 110 schools, mostly from Lagos state in attendance while the second edition of the programme last year had 170 schools in attendance with coverage extending to Ogun, Oyo and Oyo states .

But, in this 3rd edition also known as Season 3, coming up on Saturday July 27,2013,at Grange Schools, Ikeja,Lagos , a lot of innovations and financial resources worth over N10m have been committed into the programme along side increase in numbers of participating schools and states, the company noted.

Announcing activities lined up for the forthcoming programme at a press briefing in Lagos last week, General Manager, Marketing, Fidson Healthcare Plc ,Mr. Ola Ijimakin, said Astymin will be hosting 200 schools from Lagos, Ogun, Oyo,Osun,Delta and Enugu states in this year’s edition of the programme.

Restating the company’s commitment and unwavering support for the wellbeing of all Nigerians, Ijimakin said: “The company is once again demonstrating its brand promise through several engagement platforms that impact positively on the lives of the people; one of such platforms is to promote children’s educational development, courtesy of the Astymin brand.
Astymin Brilliance Reward is a unique initiative aimed at encouraging and rewarding outstanding performance amongst primary school pupils.” 

According to the General Manager, the best pupils from about 200 schools across several states in the south- west and south-east region will be recognized, appreciated and rewarded with educational materials at the event, adding that the ABR initiative has not just grown in numbers of schools, but has also grown in content and quality. 

He pointed out that the Astymin website which was launched at the last edition of the programme, will be relaunched in this 3rd edition with a very significant upgrades, adding that the website would be more user friendly, with exciting features for learning, sharing, competitions and fun as every ABR winner will have the website.
He stated that though the ABR event is a one day event where outstanding kids gather to socialize and build lasting friendships, “Our association and relationship with winners is a continuing one.”
“We have followed the progress of previous winners in secondary schools and have been available to offer assistance both financially and otherwise wherever the need arose.
“We believe that the future of our nation is tied firmly to what we put in our children today. Astymin does not just offer nourishment, the ABR is aimed at inculcating the virtues of hard-work , diligence and a belief that honest work will be rewarded in our children”, he said.
